“If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31

We born again believers are God’s own children and I believe His eyes are always focused on us. Psalm 95:7 says, “For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand.” God, the true shepherd is always concerned about us. “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry” Psalm 34:15.

When the Israelites came out of Egypt with boldness, Pharaoh and his army followed them and even overtook them camping by the sea besides Pi Hahiroth (Exodus 14:9). When they cried out to the Lord, Moses who knew God better said to them, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever” Exodus 14:13. Exodus 14:14 says, “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

Believe me, when you pray cover yourself and your family members with the precious blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. No evil shall come near you. Psalm 91:7 says, “A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.” That is because the blood of Jesus Christ gives you super natural protection from the evil one.

When King Nebuchadnezzar told Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego to worship the gold image they did not think twice to answer him, “If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O King” Daniel 3:17. They were so strong in the Lord that they knew their God would deliver them from any fiery furnace.

Prophet Elisha was in perfect peace even though he was surrounded by the Syrian army. But his servant was scared when he saw the army. See how Prophet Elisha answered the servant, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them” 2 Kings 6:16. Elisha had to pray to God to open the eyes of his servant to see "the mountain full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” 2 Kings 6:17.

Dear reader, Isaiah 49:25 says, “For I will contend with him who contends with you...”

“Is it time to receive money and to receive clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, male and female servants? 2 Kings 5:26.

This was Prophet Elisha’s question to his servant Gehazi who out of greed approached Naman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, for a talent of silver and two changes of garments. Gehazi, although the servant of Elisha, did not have the faith to believe that his God shall provide all his needs.

This is the same thing happening to almost all ministers and ministries in the world these days. I know for sure, because I have worked with some of them. It is really sad to say that the money which God has invested for spreading the gospel and to take care of the needs of His people is being reinvested into personal property, land and buildings. Some of them are invested in personal bank accounts. Did God give them the money for accumulation? God’s intention was not that for sure, but it is getting accumulated in the wrong places. He must be regretting about the whole affair.

We read in Psalm 12:1, “Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.” How true of this statement! Proverbs 28:20 says, “A faithful man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.” Is this not what happened to Gehazi?

We have a greater responsibility to take care of our brethren who starve for food and who lie on the streets without shelter. It’s only then do we realize how blessed we are.

Let us be faithful to what is entrusted to us. Luke 16:10 says, “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.”

See how the Lord spoke of Moses in Numbers 12:7,”Not so with My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My house.”

Jesus while sending out the twelve commanded them, “Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

“For who has despised the day of small things?” Zechariah 4:10

We see ordinary people going unnoticed in our daily lives very often. But there is a God in heaven that sees their hearts, their integrity and dedication, and transforms them into extra ordinary people.

Prophet Elijah was on Mount Carmel praying to God after he proved to the people that the God he served was the living God who answered Elijah’s prayer by fire. He told Ahab that there is going to be an abundance of rain. Although the Lord had told him about it (1 Kings 18:1) Elijah himself could not believe it. He was praying for the rain and it was the seventh time he saw a small cloud as small as a man’s hand rising out of the sea (1 Kings 18:44). This small cloud turned out to be a heavy rain which marked the end of the drought.

When Prophet Samuel reached Jesse’s house to anoint a new king for Israel he had Jesse’s seven sons’ pass before him. God had not chosen any one of them but the eighth son, David, who was keeping the sheep. David was never considered per world standards, but Almighty God saw in him “a man after My own heart, who will do all My will” Acts 13:22. Beloved, God wants you to know wherever you are, although you might be doing a menial job He sees you and knows your heart. Your prayers and your righteousness and faithfulness towards Him are going to be answered. It is He who is going to elevate you. As the Word says, “For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart” 1 Samuel 16:7.

Philip was an ordinary person serving tables when he was chosen to spread the Word of God. He had the privilege to baptize the Ethiopian Finance minister and was the only one who was caught up by the Spirit of the Lord. We read in Acts 8:39 “Now when they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more; and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus” Acts 8:40. He was chosen from among all others only because of his good reputation, his fullness of the Holy Spirit and his wisdom (Acts 6:3).

The Philippian jailer considered Paul and Silas as very ordinary people once they were in jail. Things began to change when they started to pray and sing hymns to God. “There was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.” Acts 16:26. We see the jailer’s reaction in Acts 16:30,”Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

Dear reader, all praise goes to the great God whom we serve. His eyes scan to and fro throughout the whole earth (Zechariah 4:10) to find out whose hearts are loyal to Him. He has seen you and He knows you. Believe! He is going to use you mightily although you maybe an irrelevant person in your community today. There is going to be a tomorrow when you are going to shake the world.
