Showers of Blessing!

“And your God, my God…” Ruth 1:16.

The Lord started to bless Ruth with supernatural prosperity when she spoke these words to Naomi. She accepted Naomi’s God whom she never knew in her life in Moab. The Lord heard these words of Ruth and started to work in her life in supernatural ways which surprised Naomi who already knew the Lord. Naomi was full of bitterness and even complained against God “for it grieves me very much for your sakes that the hand of the Lord has gone out against me!” Ruth 1:13. “Do not call me Naomi, call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me” (Ruth 1:20). Truly, let me tell you that there are lots of people I personally know who blame the Lord for their own actions. In my experience, I am proud to say that “MY LORD HAS ONLY BLESSED US AND HE KEEPS ON BLESSING ME AND MY FAMILY.” It is a never ending process until the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

God brought Naomi and Ruth to Jerusalem at the beginning of the barley harvest (Ruth 1:22). He had arranged a field for Ruth to glean. She received supernatural favor from Boaz, the owner of the field who advised her not to go to another field to glean, but to stay close with his young women (Ruth 2:8). Moreover, he commanded the young men not to touch Ruth, but allowed her to drink the water which they had drawn (Ruth 2:9).

Now, Boaz was not satisfied with all this but invited Ruth to have food with him at mealtime. “She ate and was satisfied, and kept some back (Ruth 2:14). We read in Ruth 2:15 how Boaz wanted her to glean among the sheaves. Apart from that Boaz wanted his men to fall grain from the bundles purposely for Ruth (Ruth 2:16). See how the Lord blessed Ruth. You can also have these blessings. The blessings of Ruth changed Naomi’s perspective of God and she says in Ruth 2:20Blessed be of the Lord, who has not forsaken His kindness to the living and the dead!”

Boaz reminds us of Jesus Christ our redeemer who is on the lookout to bless His children. Throughout the book of Ruth we see the supernatural favor of the Lord towards Ruth because she took refuge under the wings of the Lord God. Ruth who started her life in Jerusalem gleaning the field of Boaz ultimately became the owner of the field. We read in Ruth 4:13 “So Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife.” Imagine for yourself how the people are going to respect her when she arrives for the next barley harvest.

And moreover, Ruth found place in the genealogy of Jesus Christ by being the great grandmother of King David.

My dear reader, our God is a good God all the time. He simply wants to bless you supernaturally. I encourage you to trust in Him. When you go through the four chapters of Ruth you will find how a poor woman was elevated to be the owner of the field she gleaned. This is applicable to you and me. Just believe!

Showers of Blessing!

“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but found no one” Ezekiel 22:30.

Dear reader, are you the person God is seeking for to stand in the gap before Him on behalf of the land you are living in so that He should not destroy it? I know for sure that I am chosen by God to stand in the gap. He even told me once to stop praying for myself and to start praying for people and nations so that they would repent and come to the Lord.

We read in Psalm 106:23 “Had not Moses His chosen one stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, lest He destroy them.” Moses had to deal with a stubborn and a stiff necked generation of the Israelites. We often see him pleading with God not to destroy His own people. God loved Moses and in turn did not destroy His people.

Unfortunately, during these days, I have seen men and women of God speaking so happily that God is going to judge nations and destroy it. Prophets prophecy that judgement is coming on several nations, especially America where people seem to embrace everything that is against God. And it is so sad that they wait to see their prophecies come true. This is where we have to stand in the gap and pray for the nations, its leaders and for its people. I am sure that when you and I start praying, as Jonah did in Nineveh, people are going to repent and God is going to heal and bless the land.

As we read in 2 Chronicles 7:14 “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Hallelujah! Praise Jesus! “Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners” 1Timothy 1:15. God loves the righteous and the sinner alike. But He hates the sin. Jesus said in Luke 15:10, “Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

We read in James 5:20, “let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.”

SHOWERS OF BLESSING!

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit” Proverbs 18:21.

A friend of mine recently was hospitalized due to a heart condition during Christmas time. He is back to work and made a remark when he met me on the first day of work, “It is too early to leave my wife.” I think it is the same with everyone who reads this blog. The Lord has put us here for a specific purpose, at this specific time to run the race to spread the Word of God and for a mighty and a supernatural harvest of souls for the Kingdom of God. See what the Lord says in Ezekiel 18:32 “For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord God. “Therefore turn and live!” God wants you to live life to the fullest to fulfill His plans on earth. Although death was at the doorstep, King Hezekiah refused the prophecy by Prophet Isaiah which we read in Isaiah 38:2. King Hezekiah prayed to the Lord in verse 3 which turned the Lord’s heart and in turn he earned a bonus of fifteen years to his life (Isaiah 38:5).

A believer filled with the anointing and the fire of the Lord and who knows his Lord personally will not heed to the outlook of the world but will reject it. Likewise, I told my friend that medical science might say that you are going to die but you are to say to yourself “I will not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord” Psalm 118:17. The Lord has given us the authority on our tongue and we need to exercise it. In a negative situation do not stand there perplexed rather use your authority. In a river, the dead fish flows according to the flow of the river. But the live ones will swim against the flowing current of the river. That is what we ought to do. If you are in a critical situation right now surrounded by the worldly people saying worldly things, reject those words and keep saying this verse in faith and you will live. Believe me, I know of several people who are still alive because of prayer.

In Luke 7:2 we read how God brought back to life the Centurion’s servant by a word of faith from the Centurion. Jesus himself was astonished by his “great faith.” In Luke 7:11 the Lord had compassion on the widow who lost his son and said, “Young man, I say to you, arise.”

Remember, God has great plans for you. Do not listen to the world because the world cannot believe and understand the supernatural ways of the Lord. It is just for you and me. The word says in John 11:40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”
