Showers of Blessing!

Some time later, the LORD spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.”

Showers of Blessing!

Now the LORD had said to Abram:

“Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.

I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Genesis 12:1 – 3

Showers of Blessing!

“Ephphatha,” that is “Be opened.” Mark 7:34.

These are the words of Jesus Christ to the deaf and mute man.  Throughout the Holy Bible we come across several instances where God opened mighty ways and worked miracles for His own people.

The Lord opened a way for the Israelites who were pursued by the Egyptians by dividing the Red Sea.  He instructed Moses to lift the rod and to stretch out his hand over the sea (Exodus 14:16).  It was a blessing for His people whereas it was a severe punishment for the enemy.

When the Israelites were travelling through the Wilderness of Sin they camped in Rephidim where there was no water for the people to drink (Exodus 17:1 – 7).  Moses cried out to the LORD and the LORD said, “Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and water will come out of it that the people may drink.”

In Joshua 3:13 we see how God opened the Jordan for the Israelites.  When the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, rested in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan was cut off.

In my life, I have gone through several situations where the Lord Jesus Christ himself has sent His angel down for me to overcome my severe problems.  It is the same angel we come across in Exodus 23:20, “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.”  I know for sure that the same Jesus Christ is there for you too.  When I come across such a situation I always remember the cry of blind Bartimaeus which stopped Jesus (Mark 10:46).

Be Blessed!

Showers of Blessing!

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers” 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Apart from King David’s instruction in 1 Kings 2:3- 4 to Solomon the Lord appeared twice to King Solomon and He said, “I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, nor shall any like you arise after you.  And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days.  So if you walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days”  1 Kings 3:12 – 14.

We read in 1 Kings 3:3 that “Solomon loved the LORD” and in return “God gave Solomon wisdom and exceedingly great understanding and largeness of heart like the sand on the seashore” 1 Kings 4:29.  He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five 1 Kings 4:32.

King Solomon drifted away from the Lord because of his love of foreign women of whom the Lord had said to the children of Israel, “You shall not intermarry with them nor they with you. Surely they will turn away your hearts after their gods” 1Kings 11:2.

The Word says, “Solomon clung to these women in love” (1Kings 11:2) and his wives turned away his heart (1Kings 11:3) from the Lord.

We read how King Solomon went after other goddess and did evil in the sight of the Lord.  This made the Lord angry with Solomon who had appeared to him twice (1Kings 11:9).

Jesus Christ has great plans for you.  Do not hinder His plans by entering into relationships which the Lord does not approve.  Be careful with whom you associate with.  Stand firm in the Lord so that nothing can persuade you and take you away from the Lord.

2 Corinthians 6:16 says, “And what agreement has the temple of God with idols?  For you are the temple of the living God.

Be Blessed!

Showers of Blessing!

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers” 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Jehoshaphat, King of Judah was a God fearing king and he held high the Prophets of the Lord.  He did what was right in the eyes of the LORD (1 Kings 22:43).  We read in 2 Chronicles 17:3, “Now the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the former ways of his father David; he did not seek the Baals, but sought the God of his father and walked in His commandments and not according to the acts of Israel.”  Whenever he faced a problem he depended on the Lord as we see in 1 Kings 22:5 and in 2 Chronicles 20:12. He was a lover of peace and made peace with Ahab, the King of Israel

On the other hand, the Lord condemned Ahab because of his wickedness.  However, King Jehoshapat was a close friend of King Ahab which displeased the Lord.  The Lord had warned him to stay away from the wicked King Ahab as we see in 2 Chronicles 19:2, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD?  Therefore the wrath of the LORD is upon you.”

On a second occasion, the Lord again warned King Jehoshapat because he allied himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who acted very wickedly.  2 Chronicles 20:37 says, “Because you have allied yourself with Ahaziah, the LORD has destroyed your works.”

In our daily lives, this is something which we need to remember.  Stay away from wicked people and those who hate the Lord. I have seen God’s children doing business with such people and you know what the outcome is.  This is applicable when it comes to marriages too. Naturally the question arises, why?  This is because “you are the temple of the living God” 2 Corinthians 6:16

“For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14.

Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?  2 Corinthians 6:15.

Be blessed!

Showers of Blessing!

“You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new” Leviticus 26:10.

What a wonderful promise we have from the Lord Almighty.  As I read this promise this morning I wanted to share with you because this is a promise and a blessing for each and every one of us.  It is an excellent promise for the believer but the Lord keeps a condition for every blessing. There are promises in the Holy Bible which are for His people and the only condition for these promises is perfect obedience to His Word.

You may interpret the Word in this way - the old harvest is already in my home and I am enjoying the harvest with my family.  I am not done with the old harvest because the harvest is so huge that I cannot finish it within the next harvest season.  The blessing of the Lord is overflowing on me.  We read in Psalm 23:5 – 6 “My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

As I am enjoying the old harvest here comes the new harvest.  The Word says that I have to clear out the old harvest because of the new harvest.  This is the volume in which the Lord is waiting to bless His children.  How can I stop worshipping my Lord for all his blessings?

When you are in perfect line with the Lord Jesus Christ “He will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit” Leviticus 26:4.

Please read Leviticus 26:1 – 13 and be blessed.

Showers of Blessing!

“Then Elisha said, “Hear the word of the LORD. Thus says the LORD: ‘Tomorrow about this time a seah of fine flour shall be sold for a shekel, and two seahs of barley for a shekel, at the gate of Samaria2 Kings 7:1.

The situations are all adverse for the King of Samaria. The King himself was responsible for all the calamities but he puts the blame on Prophet Elisha. The officer in charge also joins the King to blame Prophet Elisha. 2 Kings 6:32 says that the king even sent a messenger to kill the Prophet. But the Prophet prophesies a blessing upon the people by which the famine is going to end and there is going to be abundance in Samaria. The King’s officer could not believe the prophecy because he could not digest the volume of the Prosperity that is going to come.

I have seen people reject “Prosperity” because they think it is not from God and in their own words ‘it is demonic.’ All of a sudden they become too “spiritual.” God wants His people to live in Supernatural Prosperity. Let me tell you, the negative speaking will see God’s prosperity but will not enjoy it and that is exactly what happened to the king’s officer.

The four lepers who were at the entrance of the gate took a step of faith and entered the enemy’s camp. In 2 Kings 7:8 we read, “they went into one tent and ate and drank, and carried from it silver and gold and clothing ….. Whatever the Samarians lacked was found in the enemy’s camp. God used the four lepers to bring in the blessing of the Lord to Samaria although they were not allowed in the city.

I know there are Preachers and Pastors who do not believe in God’s Prosperity but on the other hand live in abundance. Dear believer, even if you do not believe in God’s Supernatural Prosperity, please do not speak against it. God’s Prosperity is not just finance but it is prosperity in all areas of your life. That is exactly what God has intended for you.

A blessing is at your doorstep. Be ready to receive it. It could be today, tomorrow or any moment.

Be Blessed!

Showers of Blessing!

“But he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.” 1 John 5:18.

The enemy uses his weapon against the Lord’s children in all ways he can. But it is of no use because the Lord’s children are protected and especially when we are covered by the blood of Jesus the enemy’s weapon shall not prosper. In fact, the weapon which the enemy uses against the believer will turn against the enemy itself. I have seen that whenever it happened to me.

King Saul was very angry when the women sang as they danced and said, “Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.” (1 Samuel 18:7-8). “So Saul eyed David from that day forward. And it happened on the next day that the distressing spirit…” came upon King Saul from the devil. (1 Samuel 18:9-10). 1 Samuel 19:1 says, “Now Saul spoke to Jonathan his son and to all his servants, that they should kill David; but Jonathan, Saul’s son, delighted greatly in David.”

David’s anointing worked for him. He was supernaturally protected by the Lord. We read what King David said in Psalm 34:7, “The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” King Saul had a tragic end. “The archers hit him, and he was severely wounded by the archers” 1 Samuel 31:3. “Therefore Saul took a sword and fell on it” 1 Samuel 31:4.

In the book of Esther, we find Haman was filled with pride after he received a promotion from King Ahasuerus. Everyone in the palace and the King’s servants bowed and paid homage to him except Mordecai, who would not bow or pay homage to him (Esther 3:5). Haman decided to kill the Jews (Esther 3:8) and laid out a plan to kill Mordecai too. The King ordered Haman to be hanged on the same gallows which he built for Mordecai.

Be assured that the enemy cannot even touch you or your family because you are born again.

Be blessed!

Showers of Blessing!

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8 – 9.

It is so true that the Lord’s thoughts and ways are completely different from our thoughts and ways. I surrendered completely to my Lord Jesus Christ from the day I came to realize that His thoughts and ways for me are flawless. Moreover, I came to understand that nothing works for me and my family except through His plans. God’s plans for us are way higher than we think.

In Genesis 15:3-4 we read, Then Abram said, “Look, You have given me no offspring; indeed one born in my house is my heir!” And behold the word of the LORD came to him, saying, “This one shall not be your heir, but one who will come from your own body shall be your heir.”

In Genesis 16:2 we see that Abram heeded to the voice of Sarai which was not what God had planned for Abram. So now we see how the plan of God was altered.

The Lord told Jonah to go to Nineveh and preach repentance to the people. Although Jonah made other plans were he ended up in big trouble, he had to return to Nineveh and preach the Lord’s message which in turn saved one hundred twenty thousand people and much livestock as mentioned in Jonah 4:11.

“The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations.” Psalm 33:10-11.

Our Lord Jesus Christ has wonderful thoughts and ways for us. Wait for his ways to come to pass.

There is a beautiful verse in Jeremiah 29:11 which I know will be a blessing for all of us. It says, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Be Blessed!

Showers of Blessing!

“Put Me in remembrance” Isaiah 43:26.

Welcome to our readers to a blessed, supernatural and a prosperous 2012! If you have promises from previous years which are not yet fulfilled, please do not fret. Jesus Christ is in control. It is worth the wait. The Word says in Exodus 23:20, “Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.” We know that Jesus Christ is working for us. His plans are flawless and He does not want us to meddle with His plans.

When we find that things are stagnant and nothing is working in our favour, there is one thing we can do; and that is to put the prophecies and the promises of the Lord into His remembrance.

In the Holy Bible, there are the Lord’s saints who put the Lord into remembrance and one of them was Samson. We read about him in Judges 16:28. “Then Samson called to the LORD, saying, “O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray! Strengthen me, I pray, just this once, O God, that I may with one blow take vengeance on the Philistines for my two eyes!” God granted his request and we read in verse 30, “So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he killed in his life.”

In the first book of Samuel chapter one verse six we read that Hannah was provoked severely by Peninnah which made her miserable because she did not have children. In verse 10 it says, “And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD, and wept in anguish. Verse 11: “Then she made a vow and said, “O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.” In verse 18 we see that Hannah went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. God answered her prayer by giving a great Prophet who was also a great judge. His ministry took off with the downfall of a great Prophet – Prophet Eli.

In 2 Kings 20:1 we see that “King Hezekiah was sick and near death.” God sent Prophet Isaiah to inform King Hezekiah to “set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.” King Hezekiah refused to die and we read in verse 2, “Then he turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD, saying, 20:3 Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what was good in Your sight.”

Prophet Isaiah returned to King Hezekiah to inform what the Lord had told him according to verse 5, “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the LORD."

Moreover, the Lord gave King Hezekiah an additional blessing as we read in verse 6: “And I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of My servant David.”

He surely remembers you because the Word says, “He remembers His covenant forever, the word which He commanded for a thousand generations” Psalm 105:8.

Be blessed!
